 STEP is committed to organizing the Afghan-American communities to: 

• Bring unity and create mutual respect among communities.
• Empower the needy people in Afghanistan through:
  • Providing educational resources to girls and boys 
  • Assisting orphans acquire basic education and support their families financially
  • Providing educational programs for Afghan youth and families to learn their native languages and culture
  • Instilling awareness in youth and families to connect with and support the needy in Afghanistan
  • Establishing a forum, where all Afghan professionals and business owners can network      with each other and facilitate various volunteer professional services to benefit the Afghan-American community and the needy in Afghanistan. 

• Represent the interests of the Afghan-American community
• Provide educational resources to girls and boys in Afghanistan
• Assist orphans acquire basic education 
• Ad-hoc financial assistance to the needy
• Facilitate healthcare assistance to individuals or families in desperate need
• Support families affected by natural disasters 
• Support needy families through short-term projects to make them self-sufficient.
• Establish endowments, host seminars, conferences, and support educational programs to promote its mission.
• Foster friendship and understanding between Afghan-Americans and other communities in the USA.
• Connect with like-minded people and organizations to advocate certain actions that are favorable to the Afghan-American community and our mission.
