In Afghanistan, 3.7 million children are out of school, with 60% of them being girls (UNICEF). Instead of sitting in classrooms, thousands of young children are forced to work in factories, mechanic shops, and on the streets—endangering their safety and depriving them of a future.

At Society to Empower People (STEP), we are committed to changing this reality. Through agreements with parents and guardians, we ensure these children receive an education by providing their families with a monthly stipend—helping them stay in school instead of enduring harsh working conditions.

With your support, we have successfully transitioned many children from exploitative workplaces to dignified classrooms, giving them a chance to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

Empowering Girls Through Education in Jalalabad

Society to Empower People (STEP) proudly sponsors one of the most vital female education initiatives in Jalalabad. For the past two years, we have been fully funding the education of 45 female students at Al-Falah Educational Institute, ensuring they have access to quality learning opportunities up to 14th grade.

Our sponsorship covers tuition, transportation, uniforms, school supplies, books, and stationery, at an annual cost of just $200 per student. Through this initiative, we are breaking barriers and empowering young women with the knowledge and skills they need for a brighter future.
