Donor Choice Projects

This program provides one-time financial support to help families achieve long-term self-sufficiency. In collaboration with dedicated sponsors, Society to Empower People (STEP) ensures that aid reaches those in greatest need. Through this partnership, families are empowered to overcome financial hardship and work toward a stable and independent future. By offering targeted, direct assistance, the program delivers a vital boost—enabling recipients to take meaningful steps toward economic resilience and independence.

Empowering Sakina’s Family Toward Economic Independence

STEP’s initiative played a vital role in supporting Sakina, a widow, and her five family members in achieving financial stability through the purchase of a rickshaw. With this support, the family was able to establish small businesses, creating sustainable income sources. This intervention not only improved their immediate financial condition but also laid the foundation for economic independence and long-term self-sufficiency, exemplifying the transformative impact of targeted assistance.

Empowering Khalid Toward Stability and Self-Sufficiency

STEP’s initiative significantly supported Khalid, an orphan and family breadwinner, in achieving financial stability through his work as a taxi driver while continuing his education. With this foundation, the family was further empowered to establish small businesses, paving the way toward economic independence and long-term self-sufficiency. This story exemplifies how targeted support can transform lives by enabling individuals to balance education, livelihood, and family responsibilities successfully.

Restoring Stability for Shafiqullah’s Family

This initiative was instrumental in helping Shafiqullah’s family of 14 regain financial stability following their forced return from Pakistan after 40 years as refugees. Returning with limited resources and unable to meet basic needs, the family faced immense challenges. With STEP’s support, they established small businesses, enabling them to rebuild their lives and achieve sustainable self-sufficiency. This effort highlights the power of strategic assistance in restoring dignity, stability, and economic independence for displaced families.
